The Righteous Fire Inquisitor is one of the best league starters in the game. In fact, it is so good and easy to use that many pro players recommend this build to those who are still starting out. This build relies on Righteous Fire (RF) as the main skill gem.

Lightning Arrow Deadeye. When it comes to builds for the complete beginner in Path of Exile, the Lightning Arrow Deadeye is definitely one of the best. It deals an insane amount of damage even when you are on a budget.

Read up on game mechanics, figure out which skills / passives / items synergize. Decide if you want it to be the kind of build that relies on a unique or not. Start planning out some keystones you want to get, and ensure you cover your bases of survivability, resource regeneration, resists, etc.

Flame Golem has the best ranged, Ice has the best DPS, Chaos is properly aligned with Int, and Stone comes with the hammer. Any ideas? If you're running an elementalist I'd go for Ice & Flame golems and then use a cold skill converted to fire to make the most of the damage bonus.

Sceptres. Axiom Perpetuum is one of the best items for leveling spell based builds, as it has a lot of valuable stats and damage and can be equipped quite early in the game (Level 10). Most players that use this item will opt to dual wield them, as there are not many shields worth using in place a duplicate sceptre.
