We are expanding our 24/7 care for young adults and are therefore looking for several new employees to join our team.

The Stockholm Center for Eating Disorders (SCÄ) is one of the largest specialist clinics in the world for patients with eating disorders and receives patients of all ages. We have a well-developed operation with outpatient care, day care, and 24/7 care for both adults, children, and adolescents. Today we have about 250 employees, we have expanded significantly during 2024 and will continue to do so in 2025. From March 2025, all three of our 24/7 care departments will be located at Danderyd Hospital while outpatient care remains in Södermalm, Stockholm.

24/7 Care for Young Adults

is a department that primarily receives patients aged 16-25 years. There are 14 care places, and we care for patients where outpatient and day care treatment is deemed insufficient. We also offer individual adjustments for patients related to potential psychiatric comorbidity. This may involve meal support, self-registration, and anxiety management aimed at empowering the patient.

On the department, we work in teams consisting of nurses, healthcare assistants, social workers, doctors, and dietitians. Together we provide safe care based on competence, trust, and collaboration. The department collaborates with our other departments and can offer places to adults or adolescents as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

As a healthcare assistant with us, your duties include both psychiatric and somatic care. The psychiatric care focuses on meal support, anxiety management, daily conversations, and the most common treatment method is CBT-E, where we work in phase 1 in 24/7 care. You will also perform somatic examinations such as blood sampling, assist in the insertion of a gastric tube, and EKG. You will be involved in the patients' care planning regarding permissions and team discussions.

To maintain competence, we offer lunch lectures with interesting and current themes.

Employment Type:

Permanent employment, day/evening and weekend shifts. Full-time 37 hours/week, or as agreed. A probationary period may apply.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is a trained healthcare assistant, with a certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare. You have experience working with patients with eating disorders, either from somatic, psychiatric, or specialized eating disorder care. We consider it an advantage if you have completed a healthcare assistant education with a focus on psychiatric care and have experience with patients with autism spectrum disorders or self-harming behavior, as well as if you are a CPR or Bergen instructor. Likewise, previous practical experience with somatic examinations such as venous blood sampling and EKG, as well as knowledge of the TakeCare journal system.
